Rise and shine! Every morning we rundown all of the top headlines in Scottish football and fill you in on what you need to know and what isn’t all that important. This is TL;DR news.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Dynamo Kiev are preparing a £7 million bid for Rangers’ Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos. The club have already rejected an offer from Bordeaux but are bracing themselves for more bids before the window shuts at midnight tonight.
Moussa Dembele’s transfer to Lyon is still to go through but Brendan Rodgers says that the move will not be sanctioned unless a replacement can be brought in, according to the Scotsman.
And Rodgers has told the Sun that Dedryck Boyata will not leave the club and that Celtic will not accept any bids for the Belgium international.
Hearts have completed the signing of Craig Wighton from Dundee. The 21-year-old has signed a three year deal at Tynecastle, with the transfer fee undisclosed.
Celtic and Rangers will find out their opponents in the group stage of the Europa League later today but Gers boss Steven Gerrard is hoping for a difficult draw. Gerrard told the Herald: “I hope the draw is really tough for them. I hope we get big teams and big players and big challenges because that’s where I want my players.”
In an interview with the Edinburgh Evening News, Steven Whittaker has revealed that he has enjoyed his move from defence into midfield. The 34-year-old said that he is offered greater protection in midfield as he’s not as fast as he once was.
Across Edinburgh, Austin McPhee has instructed his players to “win for your manager and make sure you’re top of the league when he comes back”. Hearts face St Mirren this weekend, where McPhee will lead the team from the dugout.
Somewhat surprisingly, there isn’t too much nonsense out there yet. With the deadline fast approaching though, there will surely be plenty to go around as the day progresses.
